Severe childhood. What we played before the advent of new -fangled consoles and PC

We all love to play something-in general, that's why we gathered here. Some prefer consoles, the second PC, and others are completely fans of mobile platforms. But we started not with this – in childhood we had neither the first, nor the second, nor even more than the third, but I wanted to play no less! Everyone had fun as they knew how – with the help of tin soldiers, liners from packages for chewing gum, figures of then unknown heroes and other toys. They will be discussed in this slightly nostalgic material.

Plastic turtle-ninja

Evgeny Assessers, author of "Gambling": Dad gave me a figure of a ninja turtle when I was seven years old. He brought her from a business trip to Vladivostok. For me it was the most beautiful toy in the world. Then, at the age of seven, I already knew the shell ninja by names, sorted out the cunning of the series and understood the characters of the main characters. They were like relatives. Sources of information, of course, were cartoons and two films on a video tape.

The plastic rafael does not look like in a cartoon: he is dressed in shorts and a tight -fitting T -shirt, he has a rubber backpack for water, and a barely noticeable hole in his mouth is necessary to spit. It is painted almost perfectly, and the look is still young and fresh. Beauty!

I played them as a child with a neighbor's friend who had a toy transformer. Robot and Rafael have repeatedly set off to save the world into the younger sister's room. Playing with a friend in those days, I survived a lot of emotions and adventures. Just like in video games-a few years later we played with the same friend in turtles-ninja, but already on Dendy.

Raf is now standing next to the computer. He was with me for many years. When I get tired or just a spleen, I take a turtle, turn out in my hands and thus calm down – this is my personal small rite for raising the mood.

Liners and chips

Semyon Kostin, author of "Gambling": Until 1997, I had a Soviet designer, soldiers and a lot of toys from Kinder Surprise. But the main entertainment before the appearance of the first console was going to the library, games on the street with friends, TV and liners with chips. It was so obsessed with the latter in those years that he even collected a glassot on the streets, sold it and bought his liners and chips in the collection for the proceeds. Harsh nineties and yard childhood. At first there were “turbo”, “bomb” and “Otomoto”.

Then the chips appeared. Most of all I loved with characters from Mortal Kombat And Street Fighter.

After switching to Pokemon.

By 1998, I had a Sega console, and in 2000 the first computer.

After that, I finally abandoned the old Soviet toys in the corner.

Batman with a flashlight in the chest

Alexander Berezhnoye, author of "Gambling": Severe childhood? Well, it was not so harsh. True, it became such at certain points – when all my toys closed on the castle for my poor behavior and for the bad (according to my mother) grades at school.

What was not there! All kinds of cars, helicopters, tanks, superheroes and other toy fraternities. But there were my favorites among them, sometimes it seemed to me that the rest of the toys were jealous for them. So, more than others I liked Batman's figure with a small flashlight in my chest. For one simple reason – because he is Batman!

One of his sets of brave plastic soldiers also loved very much. One of them was terribly similar to Chuck Norris. During the games, my personal Chuck was driving the rest of the soldiers without any problems. What is there, and the tanks flew through the entire room from one hit of Chuck!

I had one more beloved toy-a figure of Spider-Man. All such painted, beautiful and, in addition, made of very soft material. I constantly made something on it with the help of plasticine: either I redid it in Venom, then I sculpted some cyborg out of it and created with him that my soul would like. But regardless of what kind of plastic Peter Parker took every day, he still received.

But the biggest passion was plasticine. I could seem to make him everything that I wanted – starting from small trinkets and ending with large models. I sculpted mostly large tanks and planes. If something did not work out for me, I was freaking out, I was already crumpled a finished model and started all over again. The situation was especially terrible when multi -colored plasticine was mixed into slurred multi -colored porridge. Then I had to tearfully ask my parents to buy a new set.

Priests and dresses for dolls

Svetlana Nelipa, a permanent author of "Gambling": If you measure in crossings, then I survived the heels of fires. Somewhere between apartments and cities, the army of dolls, a battalion of plush bears and a unit of plastic nuples disappeared. And at the same time – suitcases of clothes for them, which I tirelessly created from everything that my mother did not have time to hide under the lock. When I did not have time, a piece of scarce guipure or crepe deer became shorter. Quite a little, how many dolls are needed! But for some reason mom scolded.

But this survived in all wanderings! Miraculously, probably. When there was nothing more to talk about with dolls, I switched to this box. I played with myself and diligently tried not to fad. Just all attempts to find a partner failed. I guess I don't know how to convince people very well.

Here is another "toy". Grandma in the chest found this clay figure, I don’t know how old she is and what is it at all. She was completely black from old age, and I caught fire to restore it with the idea. It turned out, as you can see, not really, but how much joy was! I am with this priest, or who is he there, spent hours in a hug. Well, yes, I was not a very normal girl.

And I also know how to photograph, but if you wish, you can see: a clay rat and clay hedgehog play football with a glass ball. Glass balls! These were the favorite toys in childhood! Firstly, no one knew what it was and where they came from, so it was possible to build the most daring guesses. Secondly, https://jinx-gb-casino.co.uk/ they were constantly lost, and accordingly, they were regularly already other children. And thirdly, it's so beautiful!

The figure of the lizard

Dmitry Shepelev, editor of Gamery: When I was about ten to eighteen, I was already fond of comics with might and main Marvel , which at that time published the comic book LTD (peace of her dust). In them, as far as I remember, always once a U -turn was completed under the advertisement of all sorts of superheroes with different gadgets and even plastic decorations. And their details were such that it was possible to cry from despair – there were no such toys in our markets and in our stores and, probably, would not be. Therefore, from some point, I began to flip out advertising pages without looking, so as not to poison my soul.

But once it happened that I could not call it differently like a miracle. On my birthday, I found on the table a lizard, the very one with whom the Spider-who I loved fought (though not in the cult animated series of the 1990s, but in the lousy restart of 2003, but it does not matter). How? Where? Mom said that she sold it for as much as 350 (!) rubles one familiar aunt who has some kind of contacts in the warehouse, but the details were of little interest to me. The main thing is that I had a lizard! With a comb on the head, with an opening mouth, with a tail that turns sharply when the button is pressed.

And rushed. From that moment on any holiday and for any achievement in my studies, I asked only heroes, and preferably villains from the same series. The collection, which I replenished without any hesitations as much as the age of fourteen was a decent. Green goblin with glider, Venom, carnage, rhino, vampire Morbius, something, man-faculty, Dr. Dum. Surely I forgot about someone. But at some point, I, apparently, decided that it was already too adult for toys, and therefore abandoned the collection in a distant box and let her fate on its own. And then there was a move. And everything was gone. All. Now, remembering what treasures I possessed, I fiercely hate myself for such negligence.

Soldiers

Alexey Larichkin, editor -in -chief www. Igromania . ru : For me, the main toys in childhood were soldiers – wooden, tin, plastic, no matter. The brave warriors passed so many wars that each on his chest dangled at least one medal for courage. A lot of time has passed since then, and all the soldiers have retired (in fact, almost all were lost).

Flash, called lightning

Pavel Ilyin, author of "Gamery" and "World of Fantasy": Somewhere in the middle-end of the nineties, when I walked under the table, I got a superhero toy (namely flash). Of course, I did not know who it was-from the heroes of comics, we then knew only Batman and Spider-Man. X-Men on Ren-TV will appear later, a cartoon about Superman on STS will be shown only in five years, and before the justice league is still eternity. Therefore, the athlete in the Red Triko received the nickname Lightning.

The fate of the toy was not easy. “Dude” dragged everywhere: both in kindergarten and on the street – Chinese plastic was clearly not designed for this. Evaluate the irony: Flash's legs fell off. After vain attempts to keep naughty limbs with plasticine, the legs went to the trash, and lightning began to ride in a wheelchair-a Chinese transformer machine. It turned out a sort of professor X. After moving, most of the toys were mercilessly thrown out, but the hand did not rise from lightning. Lies in a bag with a bunch of figures from "Fantasy battles".

Cyberpank and space

Mikhail Subbotin, author of "Gambling": Oh! Childhood, adolescence and youth without a PC or console? Probably now it’s difficult to imagine this. But I must admit that it was problematic to imagine this and twenty years ago. Well, at least in those circles in which I rotated.

At a very tender age, in addition to a pile of soldiers stamped from plastic, whom I divided into two armies to arrange bloody battles (from which they quickly became unusable, and my parents had to buy new ones), I had some unusual number of boxes from board games.

The most beloved was the game about space (yes, then many still wanted to become astronauts). In order to advance on the space card, without creating emergency situations on the rocket, and not to lose the crew, it was necessary to answer questions correctly, and then it was possible to feel like a discoverer of cosmic crust. But in a certain situation, the game could turn into a real space horror. Very terrible for fragile children's psyche. The game was called "Cosmos".

At a conscious age, when there was no access to the prefix, the main toy was perhaps a football ball. Closer to the end of school, I again sat down on board games. True, they were already somewhat others. We then, as a rule, played in Ad & D, but periodically into my life burst and Cyberpunk 2020. Then I needed PC only to read the rules. Ad & D and Cyberpunk 2020 for a couple of years completely replaced computer games.

"Collect yourself"

Nikita Vasiliev, author of "Gambling": Designer Lego I have never had. Boxes with my beloved heroes inside, with incredible in scale and impressive structures, cost terrible money. Now the price tags are biting even more painfully, but ten to fifteen years ago the situation was not very better.

But as I wanted! Which child does not want? And here, you know, no matter what about mediocre quality, non -ecological production and, possibly, children's and slave labor, but in my seven Chinese analogues Lego, Brick Or some Sluban were not just the limit of dreams, but a miracle, moreover accessible. Cheap, but what are the wonderful! Buy with small boxes with a soldier and his SUV or an acalangist, to knead all this in the mass grave of the Box from under the vacuum cleaner, and then pour on the floor and collect bases, step on sharp parts with bare feet, lose something under the bed or sofa! Both the child is happy, and parents rejoice for the child, and maybe even Chinese industrial slaves smile.

Equamen detachment

Denis Pavlushkin, author of "Gambling": Severe childhood is when you have a computer, but even its titanic, by the standards of 2000, the relics do not pull the first Max Payne. Or the computer still pulled something, but it was Bomberman under MS-DOS , And only the father played it.

I had a different patrimony: brutal, exuding coolness and adventurism of figures Action Man. Barbie dolls for boys, the most peasant men from everything that has ever left plastic furnaces. Now they can really get them only on ebay , But at home they are still sitting on shelves, with a harsh face guarding the peace of households.

Then the little details were struck by the number of details. Still amazing, even more than before. Figures were supplied with a whole box of accessories, decorating an already cool toy, which was extremely difficult to get in the South Ural province. Instead of dresses and colorful outfits – maskhalats, police uniforms and stylish armored boom. There are many little things: from plastic handcuffs to skis, boomerang and glider, who clung to miniature hooks to a miniature unloading vest. Who needs all these stupid, ordinary and non -lifetime things as tennis, hairdresser for pets or sunbathing on the beach?

No, gentlemen, Barbie did not understand anything in life.

Ecshenman Police. Ekhenman – Kunfu Expert. Ecshenman Square. Ekhenman – Dolphin tamer. Ecshenman – master boomerang. The Ecshenman-Kolniki with a miniature bird on the arm (the wings moved, and the bird itself could be launched "in flight" with a spring). Ecshenman is a military reporter, after all! Dad did not skimp, pamper me and constantly found more and more exotic dolls.

It was always clear who he was and what he was doing. However, in my hands they quickly threw their calling and passed a slight retraining. Course of advanced training. Each inevitably turned into a wrestler. Or in the ninja. In a word, in the one whom I was the last to see in a cool action movie. The unchanging plot about the underground martial arts tournament was especially popular: with an unchanged malicious villain and even with a love interest, which was some kind of soft toy. The young heart was eager for battle, but the crutches in my hands did not allow me to arrange even a playful fight with my comrades.

Big toys of a little boy

Alexander Milashenko, author of "Gambling": Everyone remembers childhood in his own way. For some, this is an extension in kindergarten and lumps of semolina, for someone-a stork bike in a rusty bicycle in a rust. And for me, childhood is connected with collectible machines and motorcycles. A separate line should be mentioned by the pedal buggy (it was called that way): it has long been gone for a long time, but the memory of the iron pedals that it painfully crushed was left.

And if the car collection over time became history and only memories remained from it, then the motorcycle remained and still pleases the eye. As I recall now, December 31, 1993. Children's mind is languidly awaits gifts (why still celebrate the New Year, right?) and counts the clock before the chimes fight, after which you can rush under the Christmas tree and find there … a self -propelled motorcycle. He drives himself, four types of sirens, blinks with bulbs – beauty! Only one thing was upset: they didn’t give a lot to play, since the batteries were not cheap, but there are four of them there. To say that there was a lot of joy is to say nothing. The toy looked like a real guest from the future, or rather, a guest from the "Western" world, who was just opening and seemed so tempting and attractive. Even now it looks interesting.

Of course, there was no “magic” or there, there would not be a motorcycle in an upright position. Everything was much simpler – two supporting wheels on the sides, like the children's bicycle "Druzhok", and the motorcycle itself was on the platform, which rotated 360 degrees.

MP-2

Rodion Ilyin, leading editor of Gamemenia: I loved the Soviet harsh "metal designer". This is not a play of words, it was really called that. In the sets, one could find a variety of iron plates and all sorts of incomprehensible cunning shogulins. All elements were dotted with holes for attaching to each other. It was by no means necessary to connect parts with the help of pimples in the spirit of Lego, they needed to be screwed to each other with screws and nuts.

And all this gave the widest scope for imagination. My yard friend and I then undertook to construct (he also had such a designer, and therefore we combined efforts and spare parts) The real miracle of engineering thought: MP-2!

Microprocessor? Megapixel? Lent machine? Moscow Patriarchate? No!

"Freemlaw-Lifle-2"!

But the fact is that I lived on the fifth floor. The old "Khrushchev", the stairs are steep-it was hard to rise and go down and forth when I was asked to go to the nearest stalls for bread or, say, a glass of ice cream. It is much more pleasant, having fulfilled the order, to bargain to the whole yard: “Odnima-ah!"-and wait for the mother to spin the coil with a rope attached to the same MP-2. In fact, it was something like a portable crane that we fixed on the railing of the balcony.

Marvelous contraption. They built MP-2, probably a couple of months. Later, even text instructions for use, I remember, wrote. With errors, true. For which I received it on the ear.

Of course, there were other toys that you can’t remember now. Only those that brought the most joy remained in the memory. And what toys you played in childhood? Share your unique stories in the comments on this article!
